You are invited to experience peace, protection and possibility with Tomten Farm and Sanctuary. Join us for our Tomten Twilight Tour on Saturday, September 12th for a 3+ hour educational walking experience and enjoy the journey on a whole new level.
This Tomten Tour is for you if you would love the opportunity to see the sanctuary, meet the animals and find out more about who we are and what we do. We will walk the farm and meet the 100+ rescued lives who call Tomten home – a place where the impossible becomes possible every day. This late afternoon tour moves at a steady but thoughtful pace, offering a comprehensive overview of life at Tomten.
If this is your first visit, our educational walking tour will introduce you to all that is Tomten as we strive to make every animal’s dreams come true. If you have been lucky enough to have joined us in the past, this is a chance to greet old friends and meet new ones. We hope you will fall deeper in love with the Rescues, the organization, our mission and our vision.
As with all of our tours, we will get up close and personal with those who have been given the gift of life on this journey, hear their impactful stories, answer all of your questions and shed light on just what we have planned in our second decade. While not as extended as our Immersion experience, this tour offers a meaningful and heartfelt look into daily sanctuary life.
Please know however, this is not a petting zoo experience and our Rescues are invited to interact should they so choose. We respect their decision to engage or not as we travel together throughout the entirety of Tomten Farm and Sanctuary and while we have fingers crossed for lots of meet and greets, the level of interaction is entirely determined by them.
We hope you will cherish each moment and end the tour with full hearts, proud to be a part of Team Tomten and inspired to do more, be more and give more to animals in need.
Details:
Please read carefully as we have a few important details to share so everyone (humans and animals alike) can enjoy a wonderful time.
Gates open 15 minutes prior to the tour for check-in (3:45 pm).
Our address is 929 Court Street, Haverhill, NH. Should you arrive early, please wait in your vehicles along the road until the gates open to allow parking at the big red barn.
It is going to be a fabulous afternoon, but remember to plan your schedule accordingly. To preserve the experience, we are unable to accommodate early arrivals, late arrivals or unregistered guests. Likewise, we ask that your dogs sit this one out and remain home. We cannot allow dogs on the tour and for their own safety, they cannot remain in your vehicles as we adventure. Please note that we do lock all gates once we have left sight of the barn and started the tour.
Appropriate footwear is required for this educational walking tour. So, no flip-flops or sandals allowed. Just in case of rain or a gray cloudy day, don't forget to bring an extra layer and sun protection. We will be walking throughout the entire farm, sometimes on uneven terrain and the weather can shift quite a bit up here. The average temperature in September runs from 48 -7 degrees, so be prepared for sun, wind or rain as our forecasts can change by the minute.
Bring your passion for animals, your love of Tomten, your enthusiasm and lots of questions, as well as a signed Tomten release (simply copy and print from the confirmation email you will receive after registration) and a photo id. We cannot admit anyone without a release and photo identification, no exceptions.
Please note, depending on the questions we are presented with, we transparently discuss why we rescue and the fates our Rescues faced. While we love children, we kindly remind parents that the answers are formed with adults in mind. Should you wish to bring a child under the age of 10, we encourage you to reach out to chat first and ask that there is one adult per child at all times for supervision purposes. We appreciate your understanding and commitment to making sure the Tomten Tour is enjoyable and appropriate for all.
We so look forward to welcoming you and thank you for your continued support and understanding as we do our best to accommodate as many tour participants as possible in the best way for both you and the Rescues.
Thank you for being on this journey.
We can’t wait to see you!
– Jen, Laima, Michele, Julia, Lynn, Judy, Tina and all the Rescues who call Tomten home.
